On a fortnightly basis I will review everything you've been doing and make adjustments wherever needed. I will screen record and talk over your progress, pulling up your food logs, workout logs and progress photos, giving you a detailed understanding of where you're at, why and what happens next!
I worked in several offices as I progressed through my professional career: property, recruitment, sales, exhibitions, and administrative roles. It didn't take long for me to notice that I felt the way someone does during winter, except this feeling persisted all year round. I had a lack luster view of the world, and held myself back from social events, getting in front of the camera all whilst feeling uncomfortable with groups of people. I was holding back and letting my life pass me by, working in a job I didn't like, not challenging myself and neglecting my health.
As a type one diabetic, I knew the above factors were having a negative impact on my health and management. My blood sugars were out of control, and I constantly felt heavy and tired. I was physically capable, yet mentally unmotivated to do anything. Looking back, I realise that my job was impacting my mindset, and my energy levels allowed all of this to hold me back. I would attempt to gain satisfaction by throwing myself completely into work...
I had become so engrossed in hitting targets that I neglected myself. I would spend extra hours at work attempting to fill vacancies, sign contracts, and even secure new business. I was endlessly chasing that sense of accomplishment. I knew that for me, it was a make-or-break situation – to become fitter, healthier, and improve my mindset. I got a new job with a gym next door and knew I would eventually go in. Six months had passed before I even considered taking action. Before too much time passed, I signed up.
I wasn't immediately blown away at the time, it was simply a means to an end. Gyms are essentially rooms filled with various pieces of equipment.
So without guidance, knowledge or that much needed BUZZ,
There's no awe-inspiring moment you really feel, until you starts gaining momentum. I threw everything I had into the gym. It was an amazing release, I'd spent all these hours at work trying to get ahead professionally - and for some reason or another, it would be like putting my head to a wall.
Then when I got in the gym, I felt the opposite, it felt the harder I worked, the more results I could see. This had a positive impact on my work too, I took pride in facing challenges and adversity and working smarter, not harder. Before long, the passion I felt in the gym took the limelight.
I got qualified and discovered that my passion for the gym and helping was growing. I would spend days eagerly anticipating training, a stark contrast to the months when I used to avoid it. The outcome is truly remarkable.
I can say with confidence I am fulfilled and have learnt some fundamental lessons in facing challenges, adversity and pushing myself.
It's allowed me to develop and grow as a person to really be striving to get the most out of everything. This is where More Life was born. I am over the moon I can show people like yourself how to develop their minds and bodies to also experience, more from life.
