The communityMore than fitness
The reason people stay is the people. Here is what goes on outside the sessions.
You will know everyone's name by week two
The part new members say surprises them most is the people. Sessions are small enough that you train beside the same faces, and there is a full calendar outside the studio for anyone who wants it.
Things members have done together

“It’s knowing the name of the person training next to you. It’s the chats before and after sessions. It’s counting someone’s reps.”
Ask a More Life member what kept them coming back and very few say the equipment. They say the people. Because sessions are small, you train beside the same faces each week, and within a fortnight you know their names, their goals and how much they deadlift.
That turns into things outside the studio. Members have climbed Snowdon for sunrise together, run parkrun at Sutton Park on Saturday mornings, taken on Tough Mudder and Race for Life, filled shoeboxes for a Christmas appeal and argued over quiz night answers. There is a chalk board in the studio with what is coming up next.
None of it is compulsory. Plenty of members come in, train hard, say hello and go home, and that is fine. But if you have ever felt like the only person in a gym who did not know anyone, this is the opposite of that.
It also does a job. Turning up is easier when somebody will notice you are missing, and trying something like a first 5k is easier when people you train with are doing it too. Community is not a nice extra here. It is a large part of why the training sticks.

What members say
“I started out as a complete beginner with absolutely no knowledge or confidence in the gym, but Scott and Helena have been so patient, supportive and genuinely amazing every step of the way!”
Katie Ledwith, December 2025
“Cannot praise the PTs enough!! Attention to detail, one to one approach in a class of mixed abilities and results in a few weeks. If you’re putting off joining a gym - come to these guys first.”
Sandra Nicholson, July 2026
“I loved running and cycling but hated the gym, a real fear of being around the muscle men. At More Life those fears are none existent!”
Jim Hart, August 2026
Community questions
Something else on your mind? Ask it on WhatsApp and a real person will answer.
Ask your own questionDo I have to join in with the events?
No. Everything outside your sessions is optional. Come to all of it or none of it.
I do not know anyone. Will I be the odd one out?
No. Most members joined on their own. Groups are small and the coaches introduce you, so by your second week you will know the people you train with.
Are the events only for fit people?
No. There is a mix, from a quiz night to a 5k to a mountain. Members pick what suits them, and plenty have done their first ever event with the group.
